"Sarah Joy (aka SJ) Van Breda reached out to me in 2021 and asked if I would be open to making a short film with her. She'd been following me on instagram for a while and really enjoyed the way I worked especially my relationship with nature and location painting. At the time we were living in Hogsback and were staying on a beautiful small holding. I said YES! I didn't know her, I'd just had a baby, Stevie was only a few months old but it sounded like fun. She came in Jan 2022 and stayed with us for a week to start filming then returned throughout the year to get a full feel of the seasons, colour changes, textures etc of the area which was such a huge inspiration to me and my work. This project has been almost 2 years in the making. Something we are both extremely proud of and feel deeply connected to. I really hope it can provide insite into my process and my vision as an environmental artist. A country girl at heart, one of my deepest hopes/dreams is that we as humans can start to live in harmony with our planet and share in her extraordinary joy, beauty and healing for us!'
