Metamorphosis The Space Between
These paintings begin in darkness, in abstraction and gesture and the quiet pull of paint. Through erasure and light the human form gradually emerges, suspended between presence and disappearance. Rooted in the practice of life drawing, each work seeks to capture an essence, a fleeting moment in time, a living form that is already changing as it is observed.
There is something metamorphic in this act. Like Kafka’s Metamorphosis, it speaks of transformation and the strangeness of becoming. Yet here, change is not tragic but luminous, a process of renewal in which form shifts, dissolves, and reappears. What remains is not certainty but inquiry, marks that ask questions and trace the fragile threshold between being and becoming.
