Scarabaeus Satyrus Series (Dungbeetles)
The images of the dung beetles trace a journey from darkness toward light, moving from abstraction to emergence. Each work begins in gestural uncertainty, where form gradually reveals itself through erasure and touch. The Scarabaeus satyrus, a beetle that navigates by the Milky Way, becomes a quiet guide through this process, echoed by the ancient Sky Disk of Nebra, regarded as one of humanity’s earliest known representations of the night sky.
Together they speak of orientation and of finding direction through chaos, revealing transformation not as rupture but as renewal.
