THREAD is a body of artworks that through colour and texture explore ideas of change, pain and pride. These feelings are meshed together and interwoven via abstract shapes, tears and fluid moments. They map the times we are going through and the inner geography we as an individual or collective people experience.
In THREAD, Tanya Sternberg weaves a visceral and deeply personal visual language that speaks to transformation, loss, and resilience. Through abstract forms, rich textures, and a vibrant, emotive palette, she navigates the emotional terrains that define both the individual and the collective experience. Each work in this series becomes a kind of map, charting the subtle ruptures and flowing continuities that shape us in times of upheaval and growth.
