"Pigment and
Perception" by Mariette Kotze is a captivating series inspired by the colour
field paintings of Mark Rothko. Kotze delves into the realms of colour and form
by using inks and various liquid mediums on small pieces of Yupo paper. Through
macro photography, she captures the intricate details of these creations,
inviting viewers to explore the delicate interplay of hues and textures at a
microscopic level. Each enlarged print in the series represents a unique
exploration of the hidden beauty within fluidity, echoing the emotional depth
and contemplative nature of Rothko's iconic works.
