I originally intended this painting to
be a helter-skelter gathering of holiday ice-skaters out on the frozen lake.
But once I’d painted these two skaters I loved the sense of calm and serenity
in the painting and so decided to leave it as is. Plenty of room for chaos in
other paintings in this series…
