Kerri Stevenson (born 1996) is a visual artist based in Pretoria, South Africa. She works predominantly as a painter, specialising in acrylic works. She is self-taught, and has been tinkering with artistic means of expression from a young age.

Despite an early interest in art, Stevenson’s passion for science led her to study medicine at the University of Cape Town, where she qualified as a medical doctor in 2020. However, due to experiencing severe compassion fatigue, she has since left the medical field. Since leaving medicine, she has been further honing her artistic skill and is currently working on her debut collection. Stevenson’s paintings are illustrative and playful in nature, and draw strongly from her passion for our natural world. Through her work, she seeks to explore and celebrate our human relationship with the natural world around us.

“Spending time outside has provided a space of comfort and calm throughout my life; and it is also the place where I am happiest. Large mountains and sprawling landscapes beckon me in, and these same views are what inspire me to paint. I work in acrylic paint for the vibrancy it brings to the table, and my work is illustrative and playful in nature. It also strives not to take itself too seriously – a quality I am looking to embody in my own life, and hopefully inspire in others too.”
